Mom's Scalloped Corn

An old family recipe. My mother makes this often, based on her mother's recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cup saltines, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 pats butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a one quart baking dish.
  • Crumble saltines with food processor or by hand. In a bowl, add corn, egg, and milk and mix until combined. Pour into baking dish. Top with four pats of butter and sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper.
  • Bake in oven at 350 for 45 minutes. When crusty on top, remove and serve.
