Hot & Foggy Bourbon Cocktail
Hot & Foggy Bourbon Cocktail
In honor of all those stuck wearing hot protective gear and fogged-up face shields: Here's to you!
Equipment
- sauce pan
- Heat-resistant glass mugs
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 6 juniper or allspice berries
- 1-2 tbsp honey
- 3-4 oz bourbon
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Scald the whole milk in a saucepan with the spices over medium heat (until it's steaming and little bubbles form around the edges - don't boil). Remove from heat and steep for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the honey, bourbon, and vanilla.
- Carefully reheat.
- Strain out the spices and pour into two heat-resistant glass mugs, or whatever you have handy.
- Garnish with tall cinnamon sticks, grate a little nutmeg over the top, and serve. Don't be shy about topping with whipped cream, grated chocolate, or whatever makes you happy.
Notes
Whole spices are preferable to ground, which can make your drink grainy. But in a pinch, go for it. Irish coffee mugs are ideal, but any old mug will do. Slainte Mhath!
